Dominic Ernst, LMT
Massage Therapist
I became a massage therapist on a bit of a whim. I had always done basic massage for family members and partners but didn't think anything of it, and I thought it was something anyone could do. I learned when I was in massage school that that was not the case. As I continued through school, I learned that I could initiate real change for my clients, and that has been the driving force for me in the field. I have been in the field for 2.5 years. I started working right after school and have done a variety of massage services since graduation.
The values that guide me as a massage therapist can be summed up as patient centered. I excel at tailoring treatment for each individual patient. When I'm in a spa setting, my intuition also comes in handy when it comes to being able to sense and feel what the client needs without them speaking up about it. In this setting, the most important thing to me is making sure every patient feels seen, and that every patient has their needs addressed in the most efficient and effective way. I feel like I would be doing everyone a disservice if I did not mention my motivation for doing massages in this particular way with this specific population. My son is severely autistic and nonverbal. I as a parent understand more than most what you are going through. I provide my services in a way that I would want a professional to provide services to my son. Due to my son, I end up having to be an advocate for just about anything you can imagine. I want you to know that I will advocate for your child in the same way I advocate for mine. I love working with kids with special needs because I strive to be the provider that I wish my son would always have access to.
